Ever feel like quitting?

These people would not be where they are now if they quit early on

I’ve written about my vulnerability a couple of times already due to my surgery and recovery. Last week I posted this on my Facebook because I absolutely LOVE the message.

So for this week, I thought of writing about something different—but still related to NOT QUITTING. I’ve compiled my favorite stories (some of these you may already know) about people who had all the reasons to quit—and yet they didn’t. And guess what! If they gave up, they wouldn’t be where they are today.

  1. Steven Spielberg, world famous director, was rejected TWICE by the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts.
  2. Thomas Edison was told by his teachers that he was too stupid to learn anything but he now has more than 1,000 patents.
  3. Walt Disney was told that he lacked imagination and had no good ideas. Where would we be without Disney movies if Walt had given up?
  4. The greatest basketball player of all time, Michael Jordan, was cut from his high school basketball team! Thankfully, he didn’t let that stop him and continued to change the game.
  5. Jack Ma, business magnate, had more than his fair share of failures. From barely getting into college, to being rejected for a dozen positions, he is now one of the most successful men in the world.

I just love these heartwarming stories, don’t you? It reminds me that people are more than just a product of their successes.

We are a product of ALL our experiences—good, bad, successes, and failures. Remember, successful people fail forward and it’s up to us how we handle these experiences.

And if you feel like quitting because you're having such a hard time getting started, the best strategy ever to beat procrastination can be found HERE.
