Did You Just Call Me a Loser? Yes!

Getting the tools you need to be a champion

This week’s video is filmed inside the shed at a garden. Yep! That’s how far I’ll go to prove a point. “OK, Robster, so what’s your point?” My point is that winners access the tools that they need to be successful.

Success lives right upstairs—and there is no elevator.

3 kinds of people won’t go get what they need:

  1. People with a high pain threshold. They are tough so they keep “toughing it out” and making it hard on themselves and others.
  2. “I’ll do it myself.” That attitude works well to learn a new skill, but it will kill you and your team when you are wasting your energy on something that someone else should handle.
  3. “I  don’t know what to do or who to ask.” These people aren’t leaders, they’re losers. If you are paralyzed by lack of knowledge, GO GET WHAT YOU NEED! (Watch the video.) That’s what leaders do. Right now you can start by making two calls in the next 5 minutes. If those don’t help spend the following 5 minutes doing a very focused Internet search. You’ll be on your way to getting the information that you need (and your project will get back on track!).

Leader or Loser?

We are all tempted to pull back and play the blame game. When you say, “I don’t know what to do or who to ask,” what you are really saying, “It’s not my fault that I’m being unsuccessful.”

You’re wrong. It is your fault… if you haven’t attempted to gain the knowledge that you need to succeed. Nobody hands you a big platter of success. You have to earn it. As I said earlier, success is right upstairs… but there is no elevator! So take the stairs and get moving once again. You can do it!

Thanks for being a member of the Tribe. Have a great week.
